Sociology and Social Work Department
The department was created on September 1, 2005.
The basic aim of the Department: training of professionals in the field of sociology and social assistance.
Sociology and Social Work Department’s Head: Iurchevici Iulia, phd in sociology.
The Department’s objectives:
- to develop and improve the curriculum in “ECTS” for Sociology and Social assistance specialties, its implementation;
- promoting scientific research in the field in accordance with the theme “Interventions in dynamics of socialism”;
- to ensure uniform teaching or scientific-investigational;
in accordance with these objectives, the Department turned to the particular tasks which they accomplished by means of:
- Improvement in the curriculum content subjects, taught by teachers holding the Department;
- Fundamental scientific research activity in the direction of “Mechanisms and modalities of psychosocial and media impact on mass consciousness”, issue: Ways and methods of investigation and influence of social consciousness; topic: interventions in dynamics of socialism;
- To promote research in the Social Sector and Psychosociology of Social Research and Training Institute;
- International cooperation (University of Bucharest, Romania).
